Citronella essential oil has a fresh, sweet lemony-citrus scent. It is distilled from the leaves and stems of Cymbopogon winterianus, a grass native to India and Indonesia. Citronella oil can be used as an invigorating, refreshing fragrance blended in soaps, lotions, and creams.
Citronella essential oil is a natural insect repellent that is excellent for making your own mosquito repellent in the summer. As it contains large amounts of citronella, it is also applicable as a natural insect repellent to deter small flying insects such as flies and mosquitoes.
