Lavender essential oil was used historically to aid with insomnia, however, it also has many other uses. Lavender essential oil has been traditionally used to treat skin conditions such as acne blemishes, athlete’s foot and dandruff; it has also been known to help relieve minor aches and pains by massaging the oil onto sore muscles. The analgesic properties of lavender essential oil also make it suitable for treating cold sores, headaches, stomach pain and general joint pain.
